ABSTRACT: The radiative transfer model applied to the spectral behavior of the agricultural crop canopy studies, consist of an aid-efficient instrument to carry out the use of remote sensing techniques for agriculture. In this work SUITS and SAIL canopy reflectance models performance was evaluated, based on the comparison between calculated and measured Bidirectional Reflectance Factor (FRB) in a soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) under the same conditions. According to this research, it was concluded that: a) SUITS and SAIL models had similar tendencies, but SAIL model performance was better than SUITS model; b) for the SAIL model, the linear regression between calculated and measured FRB had a r2 value of 0,77 for the wavelength in the red spectral region, and r2 value of 0,74 from 740 nm to 861 nm spectral range; c) both models do not depend on the canopy vertical density; d) through sensitivity analysis, it was found that a good precision in the input data for SAIL model, namely angular distribution and spectral attributes of leaves, is needed to obtain a good performance in the FRB simulation. |
